Userplane integrates with Intercom through OAuth, so your support agents can create recording links and view recordings without ever leaving the Intercom inbox.

Connect Intercom

1

Open Integrations settings

2

Click Connect Intercom

Click Connect Intercom. You’ll be redirected to Intercom to authorize the connection.
3

Authorize

Userplane requests permissions to read conversations and manage the inbox sidebar app.
4

Done

After authorizing, you’ll be redirected back to Userplane and the connection is active.
Only workspace owners and admins can manage the Intercom integration.

What happens when you connect

  • Userplane is installed in your Intercom inbox. Your agents can create recording links and view recordings directly from conversations.
  • Intercom shortcuts are added to your workspace, so agents can request screen recordings from customers in just a couple of clicks directly inside Intercom.
  • If Userplane isn’t pinned to your sidebar, be sure to add it so it’s easy to access. To do so, go to your Intercom inbox, select Edit app, and pin Userplane.

Invite Intercom admins

Once connected, you’ll be prompted to invite your Intercom admins as workspace members so they can use Userplane inside Intercom:
1

Select members to invite

Select which Intercom members you want to invite and click Invite Member.
2

Enter email addresses

You can also enter the email addresses of your workspace members directly.
3

Send invitations

Invited users will receive an email invitation to join your workspace.
4

Optionally whitelist domains

Whitelist specific email domains to enable org-wide access. Approved users can request and review customer recordings without you having to invite each person individually.

Disconnect Intercom

  1. Go to Workspace Settings > Integrations.
  2. Click Disconnect next to the Intercom integration.
Disconnecting will make Userplane inoperable within Intercom. Your existing recordings and links won’t be affected.
